Tomorrow's Momversation is about the importance of eating family dinners.  And while the interaction among the family is important, so is what's on the plate.  And veggies are an integral part of a healthful diet.  But sometimes, kids won't eat the green.  So, today, we're giving you 5 tips to get your kids to eat their vegetables.

  •  Present your children a wide variety of foods, even if he or she is quick to dismiss them.

  • Offer veggies such as baby carrots before meals when kids are the hungriest.  Keep vegetables on hand for quick, delicious snacks.

  • Serve vegetables everyday, and present them in a fun manner (for instance, veggie sticks in the shape of a face).

  • Eat vegetables happily in front of your kids, and don't say they are "gross" or that you "don't like them."  Kids learn best by example.

  • If all else fails, pick up a cookbook like Jessica Seinfeld's Deceptively Delicious to learn how to sneak healthy foods into recipes.  What your kids don't know will help them!

We almost always have a small salad with dinner. To encourage the kids to eat their salad, I pull out the 3 or so glass containers from the fridge that are filled with nuts, seeds, grated carrots, cranberries, raisins etc. They pile their salads with these fixings and 9 times out of 10, their salad is gone without any fuss!
