Looking to entertain the kids, stay in the holiday spirit, and not have to go out in the blistering cold?  Voila!  We list the best Christmas movies of all time.  So pop the popcorn and settle in to watch one of these fine films on our Holiday Entertainment Must List.

9.  National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation

If you like your Christmas movies full of slapstick, look no further than the always-unlucky Clark Griswold and his long-suffering family.  The "vacation" is more like a nightmare... a hilarious nightmare.

8.  Dr. Seuss's How the Grinch Stole Christmas

Sure, it's not as great as the incomparable cartoon, but it will surely delight the whole family as you sit around the set drinking hot cocoa.  And Jim Carrey surely deserves credit for his guffaw-inducing portrayal as the lovable green curmodgeon.

6.  White Christmas

The best Christmas song ever + Bing Crosby + Danny Kaye = Perfect Christmas Confection.

5.  Scrooged

A twist on the classic A Christmas Carol, Scrooged stars the genius (if we do say so ourselves) Bill Murray as a television exec who needs a good lesson on the meaning of family, love, and yes, Christmas.  And it co-stars the wonderfully eccentric Carol Kane as the Ghost of Christmas Present.  Pop it in the DVD player for you and your older kids.

4.  The Polar Express

This animated film starring Tom Hanks is surprisingly lifelike and will capture the hearts of young and old alike.

3.  A Christmas Story

Any movie with a sexy leg lamp in it has to be a winner.  Hilarious and heartwarming, this film has become a true modern classic.  "You'll shoot your eye out!"

2.  Miracle on 34th Street

Sometimes heartwrenching, sometimes uplifiting, always a joy at Christmas.  This film starring a young Natalie Wood celebrates the magic of the season.  Perhaps it's time to start believing in Santa again.

1.  It's a Wonderful Life

OK, so it's a cliche.  But something things are a cliche because they are so right.  And It's a Wonderful Life is one of these "so right" movies.  The story, the message, a lovable and sputtering Jimmy Stewart.  It ain't Christmas until a bell rings and an angel gets its wings.  Merry Christmas you wonderful old Building and Loan!

So, tell us.  What's your favorite holiday movie?  Home Alone?  The Santa Clause?  Recommend a film for the family!
