According to the Times Online:

The doctor who sparked the scare over the safety of the MMR vaccine for children changed and misreported results in his research, creating the appearance of a possible link with autism, a Sunday Times investigation has found.

Let's all hold hands and explain that to all the moms who avoided vaccinations, put the rest of our kids at risk, and cost the public health systems bazillions in unnecessary treatment of preventable diseases, shall we?

Kumbiah, me lord, kumbiah. He he he he. I vaccinated, I freaked out about mercury too. I'm a phobe though, I freak out about everything. In this situation I decided one risk (mercury) was better than... how many unecessary diseases? I'm glad it was all a hoax, but I still think it would be better keep mercury out of vaccines. My father in law says he still remembers when they were allowed, and even encouraged, to hold mercury in their bare hands at school (science, you know). He seems healthy enough to me, but still. A little prevention goes a long way. What do people do when the kid is allergic to eggs? Aren't vaccines made with eggs? Maybe I'm thinkin about antibiotics. Hmmmm, I can't remember.

Yes, they are made with eggs, it's a necessary ingredient for your body to mount an immune response and form the protective antibodies. But that's why everyone should vaccinate their kids (and themselves) because of the small percentage who can't, due to allergies or other health reasons (like kids with immune diseases or cancer). By not vaccinating you are exposing both your kids and those who really can't be vaccinated to preventable, often fatal, diseases. This new phenomenon of not vaccinating is scary and dangerous. I'm with both of you guys, an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure (and it's the same for medical costs too)!

Maybe you should have been there to hold my hand when my 3 month old daughter (now 21) almost died from an allergic reaction to the DTP. Thankfully we lived in a city where the EMS response time was 2 minutes. Any more and she might have suffered brain damage as she was no longer breathing. She still suffers from pulmonary issue, so may I call upon you to hold my hand..and hers when she has trouble breathing, especially in the middle of the night? Oh, and by the way, I decided to vacinate my others too. My two middle children are fine, but my youngest has autism. So, would you hold my hand as you explain how those odds worked in my family? I would be happy to hold your hand once you go through some of the same suffering I have. In the meantime, you might want to tone down your patronizing tone. Fair enough?

I am so happy to hear that the link between vaccination and autism was not founded.. I did vaccinate my first born (5 years old) when she was a baby but I was having doubts about the second one (5 month old now) because of this issue. I vaccinated my first born because we were living in Haiti then and there are so many preventable (by vaccination) diseases there, but here in Canada I thought maybe that was not necessary, well it seems that it is here also.

Vaccinations are the way to go. Leaving your child unprotected from diseases that have been contained and handled is just silly. In the long run could be lethal. So many studies have showed the benefit of vaccinations, why risk the alternative.

You know it's scary that they do this you never know what to believe anymore when you see things on TV or read about them. Here is the video of the cheer leader with a neurological disorder because of the h1n1 vaccine Cheer leader can't walk seeing this scares me to think of having my kid end up like that from a vaccine. It's fare to say your in a catch 22 do you give them the shot or let them get older and decide for themselves. That doctor who scared everyone i hope he gets bleeding hemorrhoids for doing that.
