It's effects are similar but more potent than marijuana, and it's potentially more dangerous.  What's more, it's completely legal.  It's called K2 (or "Spice," Genie" and "Zohai"), and your children might be able to walk into your neighborhood store and purchase it as "incense."  Scary.

Unlike marijuana, K2 is a synthetic drug that can cause hallucinations as well as rapid heartbeat, vomiting, and increased blood pressure.  It is sprayed with a chemical that acts like the chemical ingredient in marijuana (THC) but is 10 times more potent.

It is currently banned in Europe but is not regulated in the U.S., meaning it is most likely often contaminated with other chemicals.  In short, it's bad news, possibly life threatening, and a drug that parents should be aware of.

Have you heard of K2?  Does this legal drug concern you?

We're not a bunch of babies are we? I don't know about you guys, but my kids are MY responsibility, NOT this government's. While I don't agree with the outright banning of it, I do feel people need to smarten up. This is YOUR body, after all. This website warns of just a few k2 incense counterfeiters http://www.k2incense.org Stay safe you guys.

the reason alternatives like this exist is solely because marijuana is illegal. legalize and the alternatives disappear into a niche, replacing the dangerous drugs with something that is ""... one of the safest therapeutically active substances known to man. ...", according to DEA Judge Francis Young.
