Throughout the month, Momversation will be giving you tips on how to break all those little habits that are unhealthy or just unattracive.  It's a new year, and it's a new you!  To start you off right, here are some general tips to help you keep those resolutions!

1.  Turn your "resolution" into a "habit."  They say it takes 3 weeks for something to become a habit (who are they, anyway?).  Wouldn't it be geat if you could turn eating healthfully into something as automatic as brushing your teeth?  Strive to perform your resolution daily for those 3 to 4 weeks, and you might find that eating well, stopping smoking, etc. continually becomes easier.

2.  Don't make too many resolutions at once.  You can't change everything you don't like about you at once.  You'll become overwhelmed.  Instead, stick to one goal at a time, and you'll be more likely to succeed.

3.  Do it for you.  Your motivation to change will be much greater if it stems internally rather than externally.

4.  Celebrate the little victories.  The little victories are very important, so don't minimize them; celebrate them!  They are the baby steps to reaching your ultimate goal.

5.  Find a buddy.  Team up with a friend who is reaching for a similar goal.  Work together, bolster each other, and encourage one another's progress.  The moral support is incomparable.

6.  Don't let failure derail you.  No one's perfect, so why would you expect to be?  You'll probably fail along the way.  Pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and forgive yourself.  Then get right back on that horse.  YOU CAN DO IT!
