Remember the magic of pizza day?  All the kids lining up in anticipation for spongy dough slapped with tomato sauce, stringy cheese, and greasy discs of spotted meat.  Mm-mm.


Delicious (possibly) but not exactly health food.  In fact, most schools serve less-than-healthful meals to kids, and that's not good, what with the rates of obesity amongst children skyrocketing.



Enter Spider Man, er, Tobey Maguire.  He urges Congress to change the standards of the Child Nutrition Act, which is up for re-authorization in the fall.  According to Celebrity Baby Blog:


More fruits, vegetables and low-fat vegetarian meals are needed, Tobey writes, noting that “school is tough enough already — students shouldn’t have to put up with lunches swimming in fat and cholesterol.”
