The new schoolyear is right around the corner, and the school uniform debate is once again raging.  Some parents prefer uniforms; it's easier, cheaper, and not distracting.  Others are adamantly against uniforms; they restrict freedom of expression.


"I am not raising robots, but individuals who I am trying to instill in them that they are each unique and blessed with different strengths."

School uniforms. Although I hated wearing them in high school. I love the idea now! I love them because they take away the notion that school is a fashion show. I hated going to a private school where you weren't cool enough if you couldn't afford the $300 pair of jeans (who pays for $300 jeans?). You can't look for social status from a uniform that everyone is wearing. I couldn't tell who's parents were making 6 figure incomes to the ones who weren't. I'm all for freedom of expression, so lets bring back drama classes, music and art! The kids can express themselves on the weekends!
