One of the great ideas that’s attracting vibrant mom communities across the nation, including Momversation’s own Jessica Gottlieb, is the online book club. These clubs combine great books, lively online discussion and sometimes -- if they can actually meet in the same city -- even tasty food. Of course, every book club operates a little differently; here are several links to give you a literary taste of what’s out there:

• Jessica Gottlieb’s book club pairs books and wines to accent the flavor of each. This club has just started up, so there’s no better time to join!
• The Simple Living Book Club from Simple Mom, is a smaller, intimate group that focuses on books about food, kids, marriage and other moms’ interest topics. Members have just finished reading Michael Pollan's "In Defense of Food." 
• CafeMom’s Book Club covers "Books of the Month" as well as informal suggestions and discussions. They also try to host monthly "author chats." This is a large group with something for everyone.
• The regional mom blogs operated by the Silicon Valley Moms Group have their own cross-country book club which focuses on discussing books in relation to personal experiences. They are about to start reading Laura Munson’s "This is Not the Story You Think" so jump right in!
