How awesome is Kirstie Moore?  She's five-and-a-half months pregnant and also just happens to be competing in the Winter Olympics.

Born in Debolt, Alberta, the 30-year-old Moore is an alternate curler for the heavily favored women's curling team.  She probably won't see any competition, though, barring injury to her teammates.  Still, if team Canada wins, she will be only the second pregnant woman to have won a medal, and only the third to compete in the Olympic games, according to Yahoo! Sports,

Ninety years ago, Swedish figure skater Magda Julin won a gold medal at the Antwerp Games while in her first trimester and Germany’s Diana Sartor took fourth in the skeleton in 2006.

Maybe next time we're pregnant we won't whine about getting our own drinks from the kitchen during American Idol.

Then again... Nah.

It is very cool that she's there. BUT.......Curling is a lot different than say, skiing, skating or pretty much any other event. Not that there's anything wrong with that! :) I love curling. I'm just sayin' www.theguysperspective.com/theguysblog

Awesomely hilarious! I love that its "curling". What is that anyway? Isn't it like bocce ball on ice? I was far from an Olympic Athlete during my pregnancy. Check out my pics of my preggo self in my Army Uniform. (Something else to laugh about.) http://misscapatosta.com/2010/01/26/the-irony-of-the-maternity-acu/ ~Sarah (Miss Capatosta)

That's pretty incredible. However, I'm waiting for a third-trimester pregnant Olympian...required to wear a bathing suit in her event. Now that's something I could really root for! www.buenobaby.com
