The Oscars are this Sunday, and even if you don't live in Hollywood, you can still party like you do.  From amazing appetizers to delicious desserts, your food will be faboo.  And don't forget about decorations and entertainment!  Here are some tips for an epic Academy Awards fest.

Food

Tasty food is almost more important than the actual Oscars telecast.  Finger foods are a necessary during a viewing party.  Here are some of our faves.

Tzatziki with Baked Pita Chips

This creamy Greek dip pairs beautifully with the salty, crunchy pita chips.

Mini Crab Cakes and Lemon Aioli

Fried but not fishy, this crowd-pleasing treat can be made ahead, leaving more time for you to mock the ugly dresses on the red carpet.

Chocolate Wontons

Chocolate + Wontons = YESYESYES!

Drinks

Lush libations can really lubricate the fun wheels of a soiree.  Here are some yummy cocktails sure to impress:

Banana Nut Martini

Sweet and flavorful, this easy martini has only three ingredients.  Simple but pleasing!

Chocolate Cake Shot

This deceptive drink tastes like dessert but packs a wallop!

Champagne Cocktail

Toast to your favorite winners with this lemony, bubbly treat.

Decor

If you're feeling really ambitious, give your party extra oomph with your decor and dress.

Red Carpet

Have access to a red carpet (or something resembling a red carpet)?  Roll it out, and give your guests a little V.I.P. treatment.

Step Up the Stemware

Forget paper plates and plastic cups.  Break out your crystal, and add some sparkle to the festivities.  Think glitz, glamour, and star power!

Go Costume Crazy

Love Avatar?  Get crazy, and get blue!  Or live the dream by dressing up in his-and-hers costumes (Brangelina, anyone?).

Entertainment

Oscar Pool

If you don't have an Oscar pool at your party, then you expose yourself as an amateur.  Make up scorecards, giving the winner a prize and shaming the loser of the evening (just kidding, just kidding!).  You can print out ballots here.

Red Carpet Commentary

Turn down Ryan Seacrest (not really too hard, eh?), and provide your own red-carpet commentary.  Outdo Joan Rivers at her worst.  The goal is to make everyone laugh... hard (drinking a cocktail or two above will definitely help!).

Oscar Bingo

Make up Oscar categories (for instance, "Winner Cries;" "Orchestra Plays Off Speech Giver"), and place them on a bingo sheet (get as scandalous as you want).  Then, play Bingo (you can download some cards here).  The winner should, of course, be given a very cool prize.
