Hospicenet.com has an incredibly informative article about what can be one of the most difficult discussions you'll have with your kids: death, dying, and grief.  Below, we sum up some tips that might make the talk a bit less worrisome.

  • Encourage your kids to share their feelings about all subjects.  Then they'll be more open to talking about the difficult ones.

  • Talk to kids candidly about death.  A taboo subject is scarier than one everyone can openly discuss...

  • ...But also keep in mind what your child is able to understand and digest.

  • Give honest answers to your kids' questions in language they can comprehend.

  • Explain your beliefs, and don't be afraid to say, "I don't know."

What are some tips that helped you discuss the touchy subject?  And how have you helped your child's grief?
