It's a family affair today as we present the grandmoms of Momversation. Our panelists are used to baring their souls in print for the world to read, but what about their moms? Do they like how much their children share? Do they read their daughters' blogs? And how do the grandmoms feel about "mom bloggers" in general? Join Heather's, Jessica's, Daphne's, and Rebecca's moms as they hold their own Momversation.

TO ALL RECIPIENTS Are you a Donor, are you or someone you know employed by, did you give a Financial Gift to, or do you Patronize Children’s Hospital where you live? If so, you need to read this … ____________ On September 27, 1978 I was struck by a speeding vehicle that failed to stop for the traffic light at First and K Streets, N.W. in the District of Columbia. Knocked head-first into the windshield of the car and landing on the edge of the sidewalk with the base of my skull striking there, the female driver of the "Deuce" was forced to stop approximately half a block up the street on First Street by several Residents who witnessed the impact. I was taken to Children’s' Hospital, where Surgery was performed to plate my skull which had fractured, and brace my leg since the Tibia (the largest bone in the leg) had been broken in this incident. I remained as a patient at Children's Hospital in the Adolescent Unit for a number of months where initially, I shared a semi-private room with a Caucasian child whom was released within a few hours. While there, I suffered Neglect at the hands of the Medical Staff (Nurses), who felt at numerous times that watching their Soap Operas on television was far more important to them than answering the call of a 17 1/2 year old in their care. (One situation led me to have to ease my own broken body out of the bed one afternoon, and slide along the floor to the bathroom using the sheets and bedspreads as pulleys. I was discovered hours later, only after one nurse came to issue Medication, and found me missing from the bed and could not locate me anywhere on the floor of the unit.) Physical Therapy followed a while after this incident, and I had actually been scheduled one morning shortly after 9:00 A.M. or so, when two men entered my room - one stealth in size, and another slight average, with both being of African-American Descent. The heavier one informed me that I was to be taken to Physical Therapy, and proceeded to assist me in leaving my bed; In doing so, he took it upon himself to place his hands in a very "inappropriate" position on my body - both before and after my appointment that day, "calling himself” helping me to lift and turn to get out of bed and into a wheelchair - something that I could have done on my own, had he not blocked my way physically. Having had my throat damaged from the tubes that were placed in my throat in the ambulance at the scene of the hit and left in during surgery, I suffered some scarring, and was unable for a while to talk. Thus, I never got a chance to report this incident vocally as a just- turned 18 year old young woman, and soon suppressed it mentally, while having to deal with recuperating from not only my "fresh" injuries to my body, but the old injuries as well, to my mind and soul as a victim/survivor of Child Abuse. I contacted Mary Anne Hilliard with the new Legal / Risk Management Department at Children's Hospital in April, 2010 when I was able and "ready" to talk about this incident, with the hospital. Ms. Hilliard spoke to me over the phone once after the initial April 10, 2010 contact, to let me know that they had found my records, and that they had corroborated what I told her initially on the phone. However, on May 13, 2010 I received a FedEx delivered letter from Hilliard signed for her by someone else in her office by the name of Rebecca C., and mailed to me by someone else named Nica Roberts. In this letter, not only did Ms. Hilliard suddenly decide to distance herself from this (having her co-workers claim she was in meetings, etc.), but she stated in her letter that my statement to her on the phone was "not" corroborated, after she has said that it was after they found my records in their Warehouse. On the advice of my Attorneys, I recorded all conversations with Mary Anne Hilliard - conversations that included the statement from her that one of her staff immediately "doubted" the validity of my claim that I was ever in the hospital as a patient, "just" because initially they could not find my records. Conversations that are being shared with the public via our You Tube / Facebook accounts currently. Hilliard also chose in that letter to concern herself with things "other" than the care that I received in Children’s' Adolescent Unit: Things like who paid my bill, who brought me back and forth to Children's Hospital all of my life, who was there in the Waiting Room for me, what their relationship was to me, where they resided, and things like so; Nothing that was relevant to what happened to me as a Patient at Children’s' Hospital, and nothing that would stand up in a Court of Law. (Copies of her letter that serves to do no more than "bullshit" around the actual events is available upon request.) The letter from Ms. Hilliard also included the following line in it,”I wish you success in your work on behalf of children. Please don't hesitate to call me if you have any questions ... “As if I really would - for there is "nothing that a White woman representing a facility that would disregard the actions of a Sex Offender could tell me to assist in my fight against Child Abuse.) Mary Anne Hilliard indicated in her letter that Children’s' Hospital is taking no action on this case - an action we believe stems from the color of my skin, based on a number of unethical remarks made by Ms. Hilliard in her communications with me. A lawsuit in the amount of Five Million ($5,000,000.00) is in the process of being filed against Children’s' Hospital for Neglect, along with all Federal and Government Offices, Agencies, Organizations, Media, Donors to Children’s Hospital, Employees of Children’s' Hospitals throughout the United States all being notified of this in the event that they have children, or have children who are in their care, or know people with children, who are under the influence that Children’s' Hospital is a safe place to take their child. Should it "ever" become necessary for you to take your child to a hospital, and you have absolutely "no alternative" but to take them to this facility, do not leave his or her side at "any" point - for there, your child is "not" safe. Children who are living with their grandparents because of parental addiction, neglect or abandonment bring a whole set of other problems to deal with. These kids are already programmed to deal with the negative environment they came from, and may not be ready to move into a family situation where there are boundaries and rules. What grandparents raising grandkids have to remember is, when your grandchildren move in with you, you are their new family.

I loved this collection of videos of the Grandmoms of Momversation. The resemblance of mothers and daughters was immediately recognized. Maybe you should have had a Mom / Grandmom puzzle before the video to see if we could match the blogger with her mother. It was great hearing from the mothers of these popular bloggers. As a grandmother myself with children from 30-13, I can certainly understand the joys of seeing your child do something that they love and do it well. Wow! Maybe its the fact that I am adopted and look nothing like my mother, but wow... these women all look very much like their mothers! Daphne has her mothers eyes, eyebrows and mouth. They look very similar. Heather looks very much like her mother and they both make that sort of "smack" noise sometimes before they begin a sentence. lol Jessica looks a lot like her mother, too! But OH. MY. GOD. Rebecca and her mother are so much alike in so many ways it is almost like seeing the future Rebecca! The eyes, the shape of their faces, the shape of their mouths, their mannerisms and expressions. I'm almost not sure that ISN'T Rebecca made up by some incredible make-up artist, to LOOK like her mother! lol Absolutely uncanny!

thanks for this, because I was struck by how much all the momversation bloggers looked like their moms, but when it comes to me I thought, hmm guess I don't. Ha! Inside and out it's hard to see ourselves.

This was wonderful. You're all the spitting images of your moms. I could really see through the mannerisms and just the general energy they gave off, where you all get it from. Awesome. "First of all, let me tell you -- she exaggerates a lot." Love it. My mom is like that: ("Well, you know, I didn't actually make you run a MILE in the dark in the desert. It was more like half a mile. You should put that.") It's so cool to have this as not only something your moms support, but as an extension of your special relationships. Love it.

Oh wow! I loved loved this momversation! Can one of your moms adopt me, please? I think my mom is still at the point where she cares about what other people will think if they found out I was blogging - hope one day she will be able to say "and you know what? I realized I DIDN'T CARE!" just like Rebecca's mom (I want her hair, btw). And I love that Daphne's mom said she is stronger and braver because she is a mom to a blogger. Your mothers did a wonderful job and I love you all.
