Guilty pleasures are the little things that make life just a wee bit better. Of course, they're also the things you're not supposed to like: Perez Hilton, EZ Cheese, the Carpenters. But if these pleasures make us happy, what do we have to be guilty about? On today's Momversation, it's a non-embarrassment zone. So, Dana Loesch of Mamalogues asks the panelists to spill it: "What's your favorite guilty pleasure?"
So, ladies (and gents), what's your guilty pleasure? Is it bad TV? Celebrity gossip? Facebook? Share your secret faves in our poll, or join the Momversation by commenting.

Shoes and purses.
Some lady in West Valley Ut came up with the best purse idea. They are the coolest purses I've ever seen. You buy a plain black, brown, white, or creme colored purse then you can buy various cute "shells" to put on them. You can have 100 different purses in one! I love these bags. I don't sell them but you can go to www.michebag.com and see for yourself.

Seeing as I'm a 20 year old single woman with no kids, I'd say my guilty pleasure is Momversation! That, and the Twilight franchise. LOVE.

I am a 31 year old woman who watches America's Next Top Model. ::::hangs head in shame::::
I am also a fan of celebrity gossip sites and find myself drawn to them even though I'm staring at a big penis drawn on someone's face. It's a disgrace, but I can't help myself.
Believe it or not, my other guilty pleasure is going to the gym. I love that alone time and pushing myself as far as I can before I collapse is my idea of fun apparently. I live for that stuff.

Mindy, when you described why you like to go to the movies, I was sold! No one touches you or talks to you for two hours, and you don't have to share your food? Bliss.
My guilty pleasures are:
Twilight - have all the books and the DVD- have read and watched them multiple times.
Girls Next Door - although the grown-up in me is glad that the girls are finally moving out and moving on...
The Internet- I spend alot of time checking Dlisted.com and Facebook. Also have blogs at http://costumista.blogspot.com/
Eating out- doesn't even really have to be "quality," just has to be someone else's job to do the cooking and cleaning up!!

Cream Cheese icing on pretzels - by the tub!

i think my guilty pleasures are guilty be cause they cost money that my husband might not appreciate me spending, or are bad for me. That's where the guilt comes from for me.
they are as follows,
manicures,
reading trashy magazines
going out to really nice foodie restaurants we cant even afford at all.
There. Not so bad.

Oh My!
My Guilty pleasure is when my mom takes my oldest 2 kids(6 & 4) for a month vacation to Kansas(where they live) and i get to sleep in, go to bed late, eat when i want, not when the kids' stomach calls! I dont have as many dishes to do, not as much laundry! and yes it is a guilty pleasure because i dont miss them! I feel so bad other moms are crying for their kids to come back from dads or where ever they went and im over here throwing a party because i went from 4 kids to just 2! and the 2 i do have at home dont talk, barely walk and arent mouthy!
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT!
WOW! that feels sooooooooooo good!
and the small things would be..
1. greys anatomy (i get so mad when its a rerun!)
2. who's wedding is it anyway? (always watchin it)
3. cokes(anything carbonated really)
4. the internet (myspace, twitter, email, anything really)
5. rap music also (im white and my kids r half hispanic, so its really funny to watch a white girl and all her brown kids driving with all the windows down singing mims "move" at the top of their lungs)
6. take out food (esp mexican food)
and thats about all i can think of..lol

a MONTH? that sounds amazing.

I love this episode my guilty pleasures are watching Gilmore Girls marathon, Old 90210 eprisodes, Americas Next Top Model , Lword and I love Perez Hilton.
I love skinny dipping when I was single I would sneak out to the apartment pool when it was closed and all the lights were out and go skinny dipping.
My all time Favorite is when at a hotel for work watching a late night HBO movie with a bottle of wine or a rum and coke and enjoying the trashyness of it all it makes me happy and if you can't make yourself happy sometimes then life is pretty dull.
I love dancing around the house to old school bump n grind. throw my hair up and just let loose.
sometimes when my daughter goes to grandmas for the day I like to go to Barnes and Noble get a chi late and read trashy mags and pointless books that make me laugh
Fri, 2009-04-10 10:29
dana- you are brave. just know that i was rapping with you... only WITHOUT my webcam on. :)
considering the fact that my website is My Bottle's Up! dot com, i think it goes without saying that my guiltiest pleasure is wine... vino... "the wineses" as a college roommate and i once drunkenly referred to the amount of glasses we consumed sitting on a porch.
when mindy mentioned wine and cheese, i salivated.
wine!!!! WIIIIIIIINE!!!!!!
(who has a bottle opener?)

Oh man. Guilty pleasures are not things I want. But mildly-unhelpful-to-life-yet-makes-me-super-happy? Yeah, I am all about that!
Celebrity info gets me. OMG? check. US magazine online? Check. Jezebel.com is good for some celebrity gossip minus the body snarking.
Also, Starbucks. I used to work there and I just love it. So. Much. I like coffee in general but a Sbux makes me happy. The colors. The Siren. The ridiculous names for the sizes.
And food. This is no surprise to anyone who knows me but boy howdy am I a foodie at heart! I am with Dana and Giyen, if I don't have to cook, EVEN BETTER! Also, don't give me any of that low-fat, "lite" garbage. I want full fat and full flavor. I would rather exercise more than eat sub-par food.
One more: PCD. Yeah, they make my hips gyrate. Hubby is happy.
Request: MORE RAPPING!! That made my whole day!
Fri, 2009-04-10 10:06
Dana, that was awesome. Seriously.
Diet Coke is a guilty pleasure? Man, I'm in for life.
As for guilty pleasures, I'd have to say my No. 1 offense is wasting untold hours online. I don't overdo the social networking thing (my rule of thumb is that my real life has to at least be as robust as my online life), but I'm known to frequent Facebook and I'm kind of obsessed with sharing photos.
Also, I seem to have a bit of a weakness for teenage and young adult fiction. It's always the good stuff (Harry Potter, R.L. Stine's older stuff), but good stuff for an age group a decade or two younger than me. Happily, my son is an advanced reader, so I can "share it with him." Yeah, that's it.
Fri, 2009-04-10 09:43
McDonald's, General Hospital, Milky Way bars, Diet Coke, sitcoms, Barbra Streisand, American Idol, chick flicks and Martha Stewart (show & mag). It's nice to have that off my chest.
Fri, 2009-04-10 09:23
I agree that "guilty pleasure" is not a accurate term... But there are definitely things that I like that get raised eyebrows from the general public.
Hi, my name is Erin and I'm a Broadway geek.
Seriously about 75% of the music I listen to are broadway tunes. I can tell you that Neil Patrick Harris (Doogie/Barney) starred in Assassins on Broadway, Vanessa Williams was in the revival of Into the Woods and Marcia from Brady Bunch once starred as Rizzo in Grease.
I had a coworker walk up to my desk and pick up my MP3 player that I just took off and started asking if I liked certain bands until she realized what was playing at the moment. Seriously I didn't have a clue to the names she was rattling off!
Another guilty pleasure that both my husband (he'll never admit to it) and I enjoy is ICarly. Coming downstairs after putting the little one to bed, I caught my husband flipping over to the new episode of ICarly, because all week they had been promoting that two of the main character would kiss that night. And we watched it.
Fri, 2009-04-10 08:40
I agree with Mindy ... "guilty pleasure" is a bit of a misnomer. No guilt here!
Dark chocolate
NCIS
shiraz
playing free online computer games after the baby and hubby are in bed
celebrity gossip
The key is "all things in moderation!"
Fri, 2009-04-10 07:09
OMG Dana, you so made my day! Thank you for that.
As for guilty pleasures...
1. When everyone is asleep for the night, sitting back with a cup of coffee and watching ANY of the Law and Order or CSI off the DVR because I can skip the commercials;)
2. Vin Diesel enough said.
3. Carmel 'n Cheese mix popcorn from Garretts in Chicago - And Not Sharing!
Fri, 2009-04-10 06:51
this is so pathetic, i can't think of one.
loud music?
sleeping in?
trashy novels?
ooh! twilight.
do these count?
