Our Momversation panelists blog about everything and anything: children, politics, sex, and, of course, their relationships.  But how does that affect the people closest to them?  Jon Armstrong (husband of Heather from Dooce.com) asks other "Men of Momversation" how they feel about their lives being exposed on the Internet.

Wow - Very happy that my wife is not a online communicator.

These are very brave men - I am happy that my wife thinks of songbirds whenever she hears the word, "Twitter".

I agree, I like hearing the male perspective. I only started blogging when I had my son, but I have been writing a journal my whole life. My husband would never read my journal (nor would I show him) but this way he gets to read "my take" on our lives and has an insight into what I am thinking. My hubby cracked up when watching this video. He's never said I "can't" write about him on the blog, but out of courtesy I try to run controversial posts past him before publishing them. It's the least I can do for my best friend who has supported me 100%.

Great stuff Guys,

As a single dad blogger and website owner, it's great to hear about the "boundaries" we put out there regarding our children and the content we agree to put out there as parents. My three kids and I have our own "agreement" on what they allow to be posted and filmed.

As for the earlier comment on Dadversation, it would be great to see a "guest" video blog from one of the guys or another member tackle one of the Momverstion topics weekly.. just to show another view point.

This is great. I love the male perspective on blogging. My husband reads my blog and he does have requests regarding my posting. Since he blogs as a part of his professional life he really wants me to keep personal details of our relationship off of my blog. So, I do self censor - perhaps when I am the major breadwinner because of my blog I will really let er rip! LOL

whoa - heather and jon - you are like the opposite sex clones of one another. i couldn't agree with growingupartists more in that your mannerisms reflect each other. b doesn't mind the blogging. go dads!

I love it. I don't know the other husbands, but you all seem very sweet and open and supportive.

And Jon. When I think Jon Armstrong I'm not thinking, "that dude whut grabs his wife's stuff all the time". I think, "ah yeah the cool musician/tech dude, half of dooce, who takes crazy amazing photos and is an awesome father and husband."

Every man gropes their woman and quite frankly, if they didn't we'd start to worry.

Amen.

Love the men behind the Momversationalists!

Way to go Dadversationists!
Honestly I never gave it much thought as to what my husband would think if he read my blog. I'm not even sure he knows I have one. Very good topic and eye opener, I think I will have to ask him what his feeling are on this.

I'm a newish blogger, so I'm still trying to find the line of 'what is too much to publish?' It's hard. The most revealing stuff is also the most intriguing. On one hand, you want to keep your readers, and on the other hand, you want to keep your husband.

Great job guys with the video!

It's great to hear from the men behind the moms who blog. Are there plans to include any dad bloggers in the conversation? I'd love to participate.

Another home run guys. Here's a frequent dialogue at my house:

Me: Why don't you read my blog?
Huz: I do.
Me: So why don't you leave any comments?
Huz: Because you always delete them.
Me: That's only happened 4 or 5 times.
Huz: (meaningful silence)
Me: Get your own blog then, you big baby.

Fri, 2008-12-19 10:27

ROFL!

Fri, 2008-12-19 11:00

Thanks guys, this was really insightful. As a somewhat new blogger (and new mom, for that matter)--as well as the wife of a police officer--I've definitely faced issues of what's too much?

Because my hubs has a very politicized job, it forces me to have a filter and examine everything I write about him. Which kind of sucks for him, really, because most of what I end up writing about are his quirks and foibles rather than tales of manly bravery.

And also thanks for being supportive of your significant others' endeavors.

Let's be honest: I do better socially when bourbon is involved. And bourbon is always involved in San Francisco. Rye Manhattan's at Bourbon & Branch are hard to beat.

I remember that FM party. BARELY.

This was fun. A tiny bit scary. But fun!

Fri, 2008-12-19 08:23

Sober!

I love you, Mr. Mighty! I was just thinking at that moment, "I don't know *all* that much about Jon, except that that one FM party he was a LOT of fun to drink with."

Wow, Momversation does it again! its so refreshing to hear from the Men behind the Women with the Blogs.

So cute, love today's video! :) I was so surprised to hear male voices when the window opened up!

Glad to see the hubbies are overall very supportive. I would say mine is as well, I have been making little jabs at him in my blog lately and he just laughs. Sometimes it gets to the point in our conversations that I'm like "I'm sooo blogging this".

I think he's at least a little proud of me for all my work online too.

Wow, you are all such supportive husbands!!!

My husband is also very supportive of my blog and my online businesses, BUT... he basically refuses to let me talk about him or our relationship or post any photos of him.

I think I'll email this link to him.

Thanks guys!
