My parents butt in!

Do your parents give *too much* advice about your raising your child? Do your in laws? Do you ever feel like your parents or in laws cross the line?

Not so much butting in, but Totally Not Getting It: When I was knocked flat by PPD, I asked my MIL if she'd ever experienced event the slightest smidgen of depression with any of her three births, and she said, "I don't remember."

What I heard was, "You freak."

I'm blessed with two sets of parents who offer advice but back off when asked. When the feedback gets to be too "you should," I call a halt, and, for now, it's respected.

i have a mother-in-law who gives me the stink eye each time she hears of a decision that my husband and i have made regarding our son. i'm not sure which is worse... the outlandish comments/advice or just getting the "you're doing whuuuut?!?!" look.

Well I am pretty sure that's what in-laws are for. I am trying to get my 11 month old to eat solids for the last 3 months. I explained to them how she puts any piece of anything in her mouth or anything thicker than stage 2 baby food, we have gagging and choking and possible vomiting.

What does my MIL do, tries to feed her a chocolate chip cookie, because I am obviously just a dumb#ss!

Then MIL wonder why you tend not to include them as much as they would like.
