Splitting household duties

You work.  Your significant other works.  But are your household duties 50/50?  According to studies, they're not (hint: if you're a mom, you probably do the bulk of the work).  How does it work in your family?

Gaaaah! My man works Mon-Fri and at the moment I am working Saturday and Sunday. On the days he works I get up first with our two-year-old, get him dressed, feed the cat, make the coffee, put on a load of washing, feed the kid, and make my fella's lunch before he heads out the door. He gets up and goes to work. On the days I work, I get up first with our two-year-old, get him dressed, feed the cat, make the coffee, put on a load of washing, feed the kid, and make my lunch. And that's just the first hour or two! Don't get me started on the dishes...
Okay, rant over ;)

As my husband would tell you, I like to claim that "I DO EVERYTHING AROUND HERE", the truth is, and don't EVER let him know I said this...if you got technical and put our household duties on a scale..I may droop a little bit..but you would still have to sit and wait for the scale to stop doing that teetering thing, because it IS pretty close.

I work full time at the dreaded office. My husband works, he CLAIMS full time..from the house, in his robe half of the day with a nap at 2 every afternoon (he also makes more money..go figure!).

My husband has delightfully aquired a love for cooking over the past year, so he does more of that than I..however, I make it up in dishes. He cleans the pool, I do the laundry...however, I make him help me fold. When we decide the house needs a good thorough cleaning we can usually whip it out in a couple hours using our most excellent team working, dust fighting skills...I keep a mental note of who cleaned the toilet last, because that HAS to be a fair trade off...He drops my daughter off at soccer...I pick her up...He fights with my 10 year old daughter every night about homework...I fight with my 10 year old daughter every night about homework..

I'm not going to doubt or argue with something I feel is tipped in my favor, so overall I fell like it's pretty 50/50 ... as long as you don't count the foot and back rubs I require every night to sustain my sanity.

I do agree to `dilcious the vicious`comment as I myself too have to do all the chores around. No doubt I`am exhausted starting as early as 5am and reach home at 6pm on weekdays with my 2 sons to school, tutions, swimming/martial arts classes. My husband travels alot and I dont expect much from him. If he`s around, I`ll make sure I get a good body massage at least once a week. He`s good on that. Children nowadays are not easy to lend their hand on household chores coz they `ll busily occupied themselves with games and hobbies. So does my hubby and sometimes I do join him. As long as I`m still strong, happy and healthy and I like what I do at home and at the office, I WILL SURVIVE.

Hi I am a husband, father and I work . I drive an 18 wheeler I am gone alot but when I am home I do pitch in and try to help. I will do the dishes, laundry, but she hates the way I fold clothes so I leave them for her to do; but i will try and do everything else. She does not work shes a s-a-h-m, GS troop leader, and yes a taxi for our girls lol. I do appreciate her for everything she does ...so in my case its more like 90 10 LOL but I do try.
