What's the best thing about *your* parents' parenting style?
When it comes to parenting, what do you use from your parents' styles? Their frugality? Their discipline tactics? Board game night? Let's give it up to the people who have the hardest job of all... raising us! :) Tell us what you like best about your parents' parenting styles.

They were so different! My mom was so strict; she would have locked me in my room if she could. My father was so laid back and was my go to if I wanted to do anything. They balanced each other out and I'm not sure who or what I would have become if I didn't have each of them!

My parents were really generous about allowing us to make our own choices, and I loved the freedom of being accountable only to myself. In contrast, I'm involved in every aspect of my own children's lives. However, it's the best of both worlds, since we homeschool and live with few constraints, and the choices we make are geared towards the health of our whole family.

hmmm. i would describe my mom's parenting style as hyena-like. And my dad . . . what parenting style?
That's my way of saying, neither of them were awesome. In fact, I base my entire adult life on not being like them.
