Last night, I went shopping with my 4-year-old and he was craving hot dogs for the third time this week. Trying to get us into a healthier mindset, I let him nibble a few stray grapes on the produce table, and grab his favorite organic yogurts.
As we ate our way through the supermarket, I grabbed his favorite natural turkey hot dogs with no nitrates. And that got me thinking all right. I am so healthy in all other aspects of our life together, and I even contribute to an amazing magazine called Organic Spa Magazine!
I teach yoga, care about the environment, eat at least seven whole fruits and veggies per day, so does Sam. But I grabbed for a bunch of meat byproducts and the only thing going for them was a "natural" label. We bought them, but I ran home to look up the ingredients on the Natural Products Association website, and it was incredible!
Do yourself a favor, and log onto this informative site before you hit the supermarket! The Natural Products Association represents more than 10,000 retailers, manufacturers, wholesalers and distributors of natural products, including foods, dietary supplements, and health/beauty aids. You'll thank Momversation!
