Could Your Child Be Abusing Inhalants?
A recent report from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration shows that 12-year-olds are now using inhalants more than cocaine, hallucinogens, and marijunan combined. The reason? Availability. Common household products from air fresheners to shoe polish can be huffed for a short-lived but intense high. And the biggest problems is that only one use can cause death...

A Reluctant Charlotte
It's hard to go back and really think about how upset I was when I first found out I was pregnant, now that she's here, now that I love her so much. But I'm reminded every now and then of those first two weeks. Those terrifying weeks when my whole world was turned upside down. I didn't know if my health was going to hold up long enough to get a baby out or if it was going to hold up after he or she was here. I walked around those weeks like someone had just threatened my life.

Kiss Kids' Show: Would You Watch?
Kiss, the most sell-out of sell-out bands (they have a Kiss coffin, for Pete's sake!) have now signed a deal to develop a kids' television show in Canada. Apparently, the Kiss Army needed new recruits to purchase the multitude of Kiss T-shirts, lithographs, gold records, posters, earrings, diaper bags, Mr. Potato Heads, footballs, pool sticks, coins, and... Demon Ducks...?

Coping When You Have a Disease But Your Child Is Healthy
“Children make you want to start life over.” Muhammad Ali
For me, that wasn’t possible in 2005 when our daughter, Hayden, was born. I was already more than two years into this crazy journey called Epilepsy, and my husband, the person you could call my ‘main’ caregiver, and I had made the decision to have a child...
