There are a few parenting rules that are drilled into our heads by the medical community...one of the big ones is, 'DO NOT LET YOUR BABY SLEEP IN IT'S STOMACH!' Research shows that stomach sleeping increases the risk of SIDS, sudden infant death syndrome and should be avoided at all times. However, years ago mothers were often told the exact opposite...'babies should never sleep on their backs because if they spit up during the night they could choke'. SIDS and the research behind it is certainly a VERY serious matter and nothing to ignore or take lightly. But, some mothers are still putting their babies to sleep on their stomachs because that's what works best for their family. Are you one of those moms? Is that the ONLY way your baby will sleep? Do you defy the pediatricians advice or are you adamant that it's dangerous to do so? Rebecca Woolf from Girls Gone Child has been on both sides of this argument. Where do you stand?
