I'm a typical mom with a typical mom wardrobe: whatever is clean, dry, smells fresh and has the fewest stains on it is what I wear that day. I wish fashion mattered more to me (it sure used to!) but now, just being clean is my first priority. A few weeks ago, however, I had a mom's night out. I took a long hot shower, washed and dried my hair, carefully applied make-up, and chose a skirt with a dressy blouse - just the way I used to do for a night on the town. I came downstairs to kiss my kids and husband good bye. My little boy caught his breath when he saw me... "MOM! You look beaaauuuuuuuuutiful!" I blushed and thanked him. He gave me a big hug and whispered sweetly in my ear: "I want you to wear that every day, okay?" I think the smile his words put on my face that night, and still these weeks later, have made me feel more beautiful than I have felt in a long time. Motherhood definitely has its perks!
