Skewers are always a fun finger food... and really, who doesn't love grilled cheese? This recipe combines both! Try these colorful skewers when you need a quick and easy appetizer to serve at a BBQ, a cocktail party or really, any night of the week!

Makes 12
3 tablespoons (45 mL) extra virgin olive oil, divided
1 teaspoon (5 mL) curry powder
½ teaspoon (2.5 mL) cumin
12 cherry tomatoes
4 ounces (115 g) grilling cheese, cubed
½ red onion, cut into 1 inch (2.5 cm) pieces
salt and pepper to taste
12 bamboo skewers
Place bamboo skewers in a shallow dish and fill with water. Soak skewers for 30 minutes. Combine 2½ tablespoons (37.5 mL) olive oil, curry powder and cumin in a small bowl and whisk together. Set aside.
Skewer 1 tomato, a piece of red onion and a cube of cheese onto each skewer. Once all the kabobs have been made brush the curry mixture onto each skewer, coating well. Season with salt and pepper. Place a grill pan over medium-high heat and add remaining oil to pan.
Grill skewers on each side for 3 to 5 minutes. Serve warm.
