Kristen is a great writer. She is honest and hilarious, but she also causes people to think deeper about global issues. She is very inspiring, to me and to her readers.

I tried to nominate this blog but I received an error message: Nuttermother.com - The writer speaks her mind often with hilarious results. She writes what every mom thinks but are sometime afraid to say. And all the recipes are delicious and easy to prepare.

(Hi--got an error when I submitted my nomination, so I'm posting again here. Sorry if it's a cross-post.) Nominating: Feast After Famine, http://www.feastafterfamine.com I have to admit: Dana Damico, the blogger behind Feast After Famine, is a good friend. But this is no sympathy vote. I know excellent writing, and hers is it. Dana moved away from our neighborhood when our oldest girls were two (they were born within days of each other). She and her husband lugged Esme and three-month-old twins Desmond and Josephine up to D.C. For months I had to take alternate routes up the street because my eyes filled with tears when we passed her house. And my daughter asked when, WHEN, would Esme come back? Two years ago, we again had babies very close in age. So, well, I miss all of them, and thank God for her blog. Dana shares those moments of *truth* in families and relationships so beautifully. Her writing is incredibly genuine--and funny, and cogent, and touching, and, at times, heart-shredding. Her posts are the phone conversations we don't get to have because we're chasing little ones and feeding/bathing/putting them to bed when husbands work late nights. They are the insights shared during playground conversations we can't have because we live two states apart. Please, take a look. She's great. Jennifer Stark of From Here to Eternity (http://jonandjhenstark.blogspot.com/) provides a down-to-earth, no-holds-barred, straight-from-the heart perspective on her journey through this road called life. Her sense of humor, sense of self, and sensitivity are woven together into words that will touch the readers' hearts. She turns her words into pictures, and pictures into words, and the readers get the sense that they've already met her in person.

I'd like to nominate one of my favorite blogs, The Twin Coach (www.thetwincoach.blogspot.com). It's written by Los Angeles mom Gina Osher, a mom of 3-year old twins. Her blog is inspiring, resourceful and a great read for moms of twins and singletons alike. Great blog!!!!

www.beyondthebrochure.blogspot.com is a terrific blog. Anyone who has been through the exhausting, anxiety-producing, stressful process of applying to private schools (especially in a city like LA) knows that Christina Simon, the mom behind this blog, and her co-authors know their stuff. She gives you the behind the scenes stories, dirt and most importantly, the real skills to get through this process with little stress and a happy outcome. She's a real unsung hero and more people should know about her!
